This document describes the changes, additions, and bug fixes
to ProComm version 2.3.
CHANGES AND ADDITIONS
1) Command files may now be linked to a dialing
directory entry. Specify the command file to
use when entering or revising dial dir entries.
If a command file is present the redial
procedure will be used to dial. On CONNECT
control is passed to the command file. When
using the call (%C) script command, command
files linked to the called entry are ignored.
2) A host mode has been implemented. 4 parameters
that control the host mode are setable via host
mode setup in the setup screen: modem
auto answer string, host id string, access
password and shell password. Host mode
features: password protected, remote directory,
file transfers, DOS shell (don't use direct
screen writing programs!), goodbye. Press
ALT-Q to activate host mode.
3) A chat mode has been implemented. It is a
simple split screen, with incoming stuff at the
top and local stuff at the bottom. Note that
if you are talking to a full duplex system
local text will be displayed twice. Press
ALT-O to chat.
4) There is now an additional key stroke for
sending breaks: ALT-F7. Use this if the
CTRL-BREAK sequence locks up your non-IBM
computer.
5) Added Kermit server commands SEND and GET.
6) Large expansion of the ASCII file transfer
configurations available.
7) The file viewing facility has been improved.
8) Added an answerback facility. If set on,
ProComm will answer an ENQ (^E) with the
contents of keyboard macro ALT-0. Disabled
in ANSI-BBS mode.
